Financial Literacy Camp (FLC)

Overview

FLC (Financial Literacy Centre) by Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) is an initiative aimed at improving financial literacy and inclusion in rural areas of India. These centres are set up by Regional Rural Banks to educate people, particularly those from underprivileged communities, about various financial products and services. The primary objective is to help individuals make informed financial decisions, enhance their understanding of basic banking services, and promote responsible financial behavior.

Key Activities of FLC
  • Financial Education: Offering workshops, training sessions, and materials on savings, loans, insurance, and investment
  • Consumer Awareness: Educating people about their rights as consumers and guiding them on how to avoid financial frauds or exploitation.
  • Credit Counseling: Providing advice on managing debt and financial planning, including support for those facing repayment issues
  • Promoting Financial Inclusion: Encouraging individuals to open bank accounts, access government schemes, and participate in formal financial systems

FLCs are operated with the support of the NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) and aim to bridge the financial knowledge gap in rural areas, ultimately fostering greater economic participation and well-being.
